SSh! Guide To Summer Skin

The Irish 'Summer' may not be what you would call a predictable scorcher every year but when/if it does arrive, you do not want to get caught unawares. It is precisely when the sun makes its brief appearance that you throw caution to the wind and forget the sun cream. How hot can it be in Ireland?

The answer is that the heat factor is not as important as light. UVA and UVB rays are still there, even on a cloudy day and so the damage can still be done. We often stay outside longer if the weather is pleasant but not too hot and so prolonging the skin's exposure. and end up with burnt, dry and damaged skin. So think ahead and believe that the sun will eventually come out! Summer can be extremely hard on what is a very sensitive organ and prone to damage.
